生物染色實驗：合格
性狀：橙色針狀結晶或粉末。1g溶于20ml水，水溶液為紅黃色，溶于乙醇顯橙色。加鹽酸于水溶液產生棕黃色沉淀，加氫氧化鈉則呈深棕色，加硫酸時呈紅色，當稀釋時得橙黃色沉淀。zui大吸收波長484nm。有刺激性。染色時遇銅離子趨向紅暗，遇鐵離子色澤淺而暗。拔染性好。pH變色范圍7.4（琥珀）～8.6（橙）； 10.2（橙）～11.8（紅）。
用途：生化研究。酸堿指示劑，生物染色劑。抽提和分光測定陽離子表面活性劑的試劑
